[The Balladeer actually...seems a little touched as he reaches out to take the book. He glances over the cover for a second before smiling at Raoul.]

[He turns it over again in his hands, a little contemplatively, before setting it down on the desk beside him.]

I hope you guys are enjoying the new floor? People seemed awfully bored last week...

[Raoul will let him know if he makes anything from the other cookbook he found. He may even share some! Cross your fingers that it's not bananas and ham in hollandaise sauce.]

I have found it quite enjoyable so far, though I am surprised at some of the things there. I really did not expect a garden in an opera house. [A pause, as he glances upward.] Are...there other strange floors here?

Hard to say. The garden wasn't even here when I first arrived - they just set up all that stuff for you guys.

Just? As in...at the start of the week?

[That explains why the Balladeer wasn't going perusing books all by himself.]

[He shrugs.]

Sometimes you've gotta be quick at the scene changes.

...They certainly have quite an adept team of stage hands.

You'd have to be, to work in a place like this. I'm not really sure where they came from, but management says they're hired special or something.

[dechagny]

I suppose they would have to be, for, erm...this line of work.

It's pretty specialized! I was picked for my experience too - I haven't done a show like this before, but my last one was full of murderers.

[dechagny]

Was it, now?

Was it, ah, put on by the same management?

Oh, no. There wasn't really anyone in charge there. Except maybe this one guy? We passed each other coming in and out of scenes sometimes, but he never spoke to me. It was basically anarchy over there.

[dechagny]

Ah...interesting. And...how did that all turn out?

[tellthestory]

Well, everyone there with me was a murderer, so not great.

[dechagny]

Oh. Um. I see. No, that...wouldn't turn out well at all, would it.

[tellthestory]

No. It went downhill pretty quickly.
