[Just gonna kinda fidget now.] So... Do you know why Hans thinks we're engaged? I mean, he's a nice guy, but I don't know if he's the one I'm supposed to magically fall in love with. Not in a place like this anyways.

They're not normally supposed to go in you guys's bedrooms, but I'll see if someone can just do it during the day.

[Because, uh. Spackling your wall while you sleep is creepy. Also, he seems a little baffled by that question.]

[The Balladeer looks at her thoughtfully for a moment.]

[He shakes his head.] She met a man on the beach and decided he was her true love after one conversation, just like that. She'd been depressed, see, and he wandered by - so it must've been fate.

He was a cult leader, so she left her family and her whole life behind to follow him. Two years later, he murdered seven people and ended up in prison. But she's still just as devoted to him. Last I saw of her, she was planning on breaking him out.

[Oh... That story makes Anna feel like some silly little girl asking for trouble.]

That's awful...

[No! She stands up straight.]

Even if it's not magical, I know I'll find the right person. And hope I don't become so blinded that I ignore their bad side.

Well, she's not bothering anyone anymore.

Everybody has a bad side. Not as extreme as that, but...I guess the point's that you should spend some time getting to know people. The worst ones can be the most charismatic.

The most charismatic...? [Who is the most charismatic person she knows?] Are you talking about Hans? Or even Raoul?

...actually, I was mostly thinking of this one guy I knew. He's dead now.

That's not being a friend. A friend is there for you when you need them! They spend time with you, like some of the same things you do, and being with them makes you happy... you really don't have anyone like that?

I...really needed this job? I like my coworkers here fine, and I don't think they're plotting my demise or anything. [So. Besties.]

[Um. Okay. Is this how people do this? The Balladeer shakes Anna's hand.]

Sure! That'd be...nice?

[Anna just has a hug smile on her face. SHE HAS ANOTHER FRIEND]

It's more than nice. This means if we have a party, you better show up, okay?

Oh! [The Balladeer grins as well; he's still a little uncertain, but it's hard not to.] Uh, sure! I've never really had a chance to go to a party before!

Then you should totally come! I know that everyone's going to get bored eventually, so we're gonna have one as soon as possible. I'll make sure you get an invitation! Wait! I'll hand deliver it.

[That's a guarantee! ~~Unless it's a sad party.~~]

Oh! Okay! I'll look forward to it!
