THE BOX OFFICE
This is where you can meet privately with the Balladeer! The Balladeer is almost always around during the day; just knock.
(Secretly, the door's usually not locked if he's inside. But you wouldn't want to be rude, would you?)

Do you need someone to fix the holes in your wall?

[Just gonna kinda fidget now.] So... Do you know why Hans thinks we're engaged? I mean, he's a nice guy, but I don't know if he's the one I'm supposed to magically fall in love with. Not in a place like this anyways.
no subject
[Because, uh. Spackling your wall while you sleep is creepy. Also, he seems a little baffled by that question.]
What...makes you think there is someone you're supposed to magically fall in love with?
no subject
[Weeeeelllll...]
Isn't that how true love works?
no subject
...I once knew a girl
In the place I come from
Thought the same way that you do
Fell in "love" with some bum
[He shakes his head.] She met a man on the beach and decided he was her true love after one conversation, just like that. She'd been depressed, see, and he wandered by - so it must've been fate.
He was a cult leader, so she left her family and her whole life behind to follow him. Two years later, he murdered seven people and ended up in prison. But she's still just as devoted to him. Last I saw of her, she was planning on breaking him out.

That's awful...
[No! She stands up straight.]
Even if it's not magical, I know I'll find the right person. And hope I don't become so blinded that I ignore their bad side.
no subject
Everybody has a bad side. Not as extreme as that, but...I guess the point's that you should spend some time getting to know people. The worst ones can be the most charismatic.
no subject
The most charismatic...? [Who is the most charismatic person she knows?] Are you talking about Hans? Or even Raoul?
no subject
[excuse he is great at telling stories
also he didn't technically say he wasn't thinking about hans at ALL......]no subject
[You need some non-dead friends.]
no subject
[tbf he doesn't have dead friends either he just has no friends]
no subject
Are you lonely with so many people you know being dead?
no subject
[which is not a no]
no subject
[Hold up there]
So you have any friends?
no subject
[most normal people probably just call that a functional working relationship]

[Um. This is awkward. He seems to realize that too, and is clearly fishing for something to say that won't be weird.]
I...really needed this job? I like my coworkers here fine, and I don't think they're plotting my demise or anything. [So. Besties.]
no subject
Would... they get mad at you for making friends with us?
no subject
[where are you going with this and should he be alarmed]
no subject
[Uhm... she can't hug a man so she's going to hold her hand out. Let's shake on it?]
no subject
Sure! That'd be...nice?
no subject
It's more than nice. This means if we have a party, you better show up, okay?
no subject
no subject
